Judith Saxton and Allison Gagnon celebrate their ten years of collaboration with some new works by trumpeter/composers: Stanley Friedman’s Sonata #2 in F minor (world premiere); Brazilian-American Luis Engelke’s Sonata (SE premiere), Kevin McKee’s Song for my Friend (for John Wacker, commissioning consortium premiere) and Jim Stephenson’s Silent Echoes.
*2015 was the 16th consecutive year I presented a fall recital in the month of October. From 2000 – 2005 they took place in Wiedemann Hall on campus of Wichita State University where I was tenured Associate Professor from 1999- 2006 in conjunction with my role as principal trumpet of the Wichita Symphony and Brass Quintet.
